I grew up in downtown Phoenix, Arizona, and attended Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff as an undergraduate. I spent my junior year learning Spanish while living in Valencia, Spain, and my last year of undergrad working as a research assistant at the Prevention Research Center at Arizona State University. I moved to Portland to pursue my Ph.D. in Applied Psychology at Portland State University. My research interests primarily focus on health-related behaviors. I am particularly interested in social and cultural norms for alcohol consumption. I'm also interested in education and social service programs that focus on substance use prevention and intervention. In my spare time I enjoy traveling, biking, running and camping.
